Our new Store Ad Placement
So we placed an ad in Shock Cinema Magazine for the following year. They are a quarterly magazine dedicated to cultish type cinema that with reviews of both newly released independent films as well as re-mastered gray market films. I am sure the ads in the magazine you are all more or less familiar with perusing the network. Our ad comes on page 38, right next to Something Weird Video. Cool!! You can purchase these magazines at any Borders, Barnes and Noble or high quality news stand.
In addition, there is a little blurb in the back of the magazine of all the advertisers in the issue and what they specialize in. Also, at the Shock Cinema Magazine, they maintain a link page of all the retailers that advertise with them.
So pick up an issue, they put out great magazines. I personally have been buying them for the past 2 years, which is how I knew they were a good place to advertise with. The articles are indepth, well researched, and the interviews are entertaining with low-key, but important actors, actresses and directors from the cult film world.
We also wanted to thank The Drive-In Connection for writing about us on their home page. This ad happen to coincide with a blurb and link to thedriveinconnection.com, which is written on their home page. So check them out as well for those interested in gray market material.
There are a number of items in our store at the moment, and I have been updating the store about once a week adding new items. Here are some of our most recent items. Click on the links for more details. (All items in our store brand new and factory sealed, officially licensed products).
Halloween (Hot Topic Exclusive) - Yes, remember this baby? Very hard to find and it still is! Considering many of the copies were opened, there are even less around that are still sealed. This one is indeed authentic because it has the Hot Topic sticker on the front, and the Hot Topic price tag on the back, which are really the only 2 identifiable ways to know its a legit version. Some eBay copies have purported to be real autographcs, but no Hot Topic stickers (because there is no Certificate with these DVDs. This might be the only place you can find an authentic copy.
Appleseed: Ex Machina (Best Buy Store Exclusive) - This is the one that comes in the Steelbook! The bonus is a manga called Appleseed ID. Hard to find as they sold out quickly.
WWE Royal Rumble 2008 (Best Buy Store Exclusive) - The rarest WWE DVD is the world? Well, there was debate about it, and its hard to make such a gesture. But there is no doubt that this edition is extremely rare. And if you had collected all 3 of the previous Topps Exclusive cards sets in previous WWE packages, then you were probably disappointed when you could not find this one. This is the finale, the 4 of 4 in the Topps series that were exclusives to Best Buy WWE DVDs. It was suggested that around 1,000 copies were made.
Hellraiser: 20th Anniversary Edition (Best Buy Store Exclusive) - Yes, Anchor Bay is well known for re-releasing this film umpteenth times, but its only a few that get a Best Buy Exclusive, like this one which quickly sold out. The poster that comes with it is really cool and be viewed here (its the back of the slipcase).
One of the updates on the Store page is the inclusion of the Store Exclusives Category. Because its usually a hot topic and they are usually limited either in quantity, distribution, location or even peoples knowledge of them, it seemed obvious to make it a category to view them all at once.
Other items that were recently added:
James Bond Collection 1 (Special Edition) - Since the newer editions have been re-released through Sony, these older versions from MGM has some affection from collectors. The boxed sets were always a challenge to get, especially before the re-releases.
James Bond Collection 3 (Special Edition) - Like the first collection, these were relatively hard to get. The third collection was the most difficult to get as it came out the latest, and had a shorter shelf life, which included the latest Bond film at the time, Die Another Day, the only 2-disc set in the box.
The Criminal - Lastly is the Stanley Baker cult classic. This title was released from Anchor Bay with a strikingly brilliant blue cover. I love it! Its a great film about a crime boss in Britain, considered one of the "hardest" thrillers ever made.
Thats the update for now, I will be including more later this week, so keep posted, bookmarked or whatever it is you do to be updated.
Thanks for your support.
