Midnight Video Special Uncut Versions

If you are a fan of classic Euro-Sleeze horror, then Midnight Video is the place for you. Not only do you get a premium selection of the rarest of videos, but you are treated to the ultimate uncut versions.

Some of the recent releases either by Synapse, Deimos or other companies that specialize in Euro-Horror state the "uncut" or "complete" versions, however, at Midnight Video they explain what exactly is missing in those versions. Consider the recent release of the Deimos film "The Night of the Sorcerers".

According to Midnight Video, they have this to say:

NIGHT OF THE SORCERERS (Deimos/BCI)
1) At 2:14 the DVD is missing 11 seconds during the entire whipping sequence when compared to the Japan version. The DVD contains 27 blows of the whip to the tied-up girl while the Japan version has 36 blows of the whip. The Japan version is much more brutal in this sequence.

2) At 2:56 after the head native puts down his whip and approaches the tied-up girl the DVD is missing 7 seconds during this ravaging sequence compared to the Japan version.

3) At 3:56 the DVD is missing an additional 7 seconds of the ravaging sequence before the tied-up girl is covered with the leopard skin.

4) At 24:43 the DVD is missing 3 seconds during the love-making scene.

5) At 28:06 the DVD is missing an additional 4 seconds in the lovemaking scene. This scene takes place right after the girl spying with the camera clicks the picture and the camera pans to the river. On the Dvd its cuts off before the girl even clicks her camera.

6) At 1:08:35 there is a 6 second dialog sequence missing. After the man throws his knife into the ground the DVD omits the following lines of dialog:
- The girl says: "What do you pretend to demonstrate with that"?
- The man replies: "I must kill him"!

The Japan version of the film contains everything listed above.

The English audio track of the Japan version is vastly superior to the Deimos/BCI DVD. The lip sync and sound effects on the English audio track of the Deimos/BCI DVD are way out of skew compared to the Japan version.

All in total the Deimos/BCI DVD is missing 38 seconds of footage.

Japan running time: 85 minutes 26 seconds
Deimos/BI DVD running time: 84 minutes 48 seconds

Similarly is the Mondo Macabro release of Dangerous Seductress:

DANGEROUS SEDUCTRESS (Mondo Macabro) - Mondo Macabro's release of H. Tjut Jalil's Indonesian horror film is a major disappointment! The release is a censored and cut version of the film. ALL scenes of breasts and backside are obscured by glowing censor dots/bars and some scenes are cut altogether. Why release this censored/cut version when there is an uncut/uncensored version?

Here are some screenshots from the Uncut/Uncensored version (without the glowing censor dots/bars). Now compare these shots with the cut/censored Mondo Macabro release which contains glowing censor dots.

We offer the complete/uncut/uncensored version (with no glowing censor dots/bars) on DVD and VHS.

These are just 2 examples of what they offer in their catalog. All DVDs are produced on DVD-R and they also have a listing for VHS. Everything is made as ordered. They have been in business since 1989 and make high quality restored, fully uncut versions never released anywhere else. Some of the other titles that have been released through larger studios that still have missing footage available at Midnight Video are:

BATTLE OF THE AMAZONS

There are more that are incidental in the differences. Sometimes Midnight Video discontinues a title as another company has the rights to the complete version that was once a cut version. I have purchased from them before and they are a reliable source of rare material. For a complete list of all the titles that explain the missing sequences, read here.
