Misty Mundae, the young modern b-movie actress, apparently fighting for the seat of B-Movie scream queen, specializing in lesbianism. Her DVD Vampire Strangler apparently is asking for quite a bit on one eBay sellers page, yet, no Amazon listing for this DVD. On Amazon, however, there is a listing for a Ultra-Limited DVD set, and yet, no one has one to offer. One cannot speculate what these might be worth. Misty does have an audience and draws their attention (I saw one of her films and her attraction is not from the acting or the movie itself).
Another curious, but noteworthy DVD is the Mexican release (a region 1 DVD) of Don's Plum, which features Tobey MacGuire and Leonardo DiCaprio spewing some spontaneous acting exercises. This film accorindg to the link, was not supposed to reach the light of day, but as Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson found out the hard way, people will see it because they want to - and fans will find a way to see it.
How about the Rutger Hauer film Split Second. Find 5 friends that have heard of this film and how many of them have seen the film. That's what I thought; not an easy task, is it? Well, not worry, as hard as it might be to find 5 people who have seen this film, there are not many DVD's out there either making this a particularly expensive DVD. A couple copies are being offered on eBay and a small handful on Amazon.
Another rare film that I have seen a couple of times, but usually as a buy-it-now, is the Japanese film Audition. This is a region 1 DVD, Director's Cut version from Ventura Distribution. (Strangely, type in audition at their website and it states they have copies available).
Well, just some titles to check out for your collection or keep an eye open when on the hunt. It may be probable that these get over looked for the more "popular" out of print titles, when these might be those gems hidden beneath. There are always more titles that pop up along the way that very few people have but are fun to check out. Till next time. Check out the forum for other updates and info on some current titles.
