Upcoming News for Cult Epics

I received an email from Nico B of Cult Epics regarding the Limited Editions and asked that I inform you to clear the confusion on the Limited Editions and the print numbers involved. There has been speculation in the past regarding how many were actually printed versus the number stated. He writes:
"We have noticed it has been said on your site that our LIMITED EDITIONS are not always accurate number, I must protest, our Edition # as listed on the cover is exactly how many are produced in total. In the case of PIG there was a second edition of 666 copies, even more rare as never been available officially thru distribution."
After some discussion, specifically focused on PIG, it was shown that any hand-numbered editions of PIG are indeed faked. The blank editions are promo copies for review which were small in number and anyone who decided to hand write the number more than likely used a promo and made up the number and signature. As specifically said by Nico:
"...interesting on PIG the SIGNATURE and HAND SIGNED NUMBERED VERSION are fake, somebody must have gotten a PROMO COPY UNNUMBERED COPY OF PIG, and NUMBERED AND SIGNED IT THEMSELF! No DVDs of mine are hand numbered, for that same reason."
The detail page for PIG on our site will be updated appropriately to note the reality of this DVD. This title is long out of print and very hard to come by. He further states:
"Originally there were 2000 copies of PIG printed, as Rozz favorite number being 1334 I released those officially thru CAV, the second edition was 666, too small to be officially released, has been sold on EBAY and AMAZON. All copies were PRINT NUMBERED, any hand numbered copies EXCEPT VHS and CD ROM which were hand numbered, on DVD are illegal. That may have been the mix up."
So, there is the final word. In regards to other Limited Editions like THE BEAST, DRILLER KILLER, CINEMA OF DEATH, GITANE DEMONE: LIFE AFTER DEATH, BETTY PAGE: DARK ANGEL, UN CHANT D'AMOUR, and THE FERNANDO ARABEL COLLECTION - these are all printed to the number noted on the box and no other copies were made. To note, they are as follows:
PIG - (2 printings) #1334 and #666 (2000 total)
THE BEAST - #10,000
DRILLER KILLER - #10,000
GITANE DEMONE: LIFE AFTER DEATH - #2500
BETTY PAGE: DARK ANGEL - #20,000
UN CHANT D'AMOUR - #10,000
THE FERNANDO ARRABAL COLLECTION - #4,000 (unnumbered were promotional copies)
That rounds out the Limited Editions. The correspondence with Nico B also made the announcement of out of print titles from Cult Epics starting in January 2010. It will be sad to see some of these leave, so for you collector's out there, be sure to grab these while they are still available. The out of print list is as follows:
THE BEAST
THE WALERIAN BOROWZCYK COLLECTION
IN A GLASS CAGE
DEAD LEAVES
AMERICAN GOTHIC
THE TINTO BRASS COLLECTION I
THE KEY
MIRANDA
ALL LADIES DO IT
The Tinto Brass titles and The Beast are surely to be sought after as some of the more prized items released here. Anyone who knows of Tinto Brass will surely appreciate them even more as they will no longer be available. The Beast is one of my personal favorites dealing with erotic fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast style remaking.
A rounding out of previous titles that are long out of print are:
PIG
THE BEAST LIMITED EDIITON
THE BEAST (FIRST PRINTING)
VENUS IN FURS
THE BLACK GLOVE
Lastly, I want to let you know of the upcoming titles Cult Epics is planning for release in 2010. I am really excited to announce this here as I am sure many of you will also be. Nico has announced the coming of Blu-ray titles for Cult Epics which will launch them into the HD era of home entertainment. Nico states:
"Of course with NEW MEDIA, we are upgrading in the NEXT YEARS to come, our titles if possible the available elments are, will be newly transferred and released in HD, starting with THE RADLEY METZGER FILMS, as well MONAMOUR by TINTO BRASS, we will embrace BLU RAY, and erotica will never look better. In Tinto's case ASS NEVER LOOKED BETTER!"
The scheduled release of titles are:
THE FERNANDO ARRABAL COLLECTION 2 feb
Fernando Arrabal's CAR CEMETERY feb
Walerian Borowczyk's BEHIND CONVENT WALLS march
THE NUNSPLOITATION CONVENT COLLECTION march
