Well, I am back from vacationing to the east coast and getting my grind back in gear (or is it getting my gear back in the grind?). As observed in our forum, the
Batman Begins DVD has raised some questions pertaining to the special editions. As both users darkblume and allthings noted, Best Buy is offering a special version only available at their stores (this is not the only time Best Buy has had editions catered for their stores, click here). Apparently Batman Begins had a lenticular cover put on the Best Buy versions. According to darkblume, he writes that the stores only received 5 copies each. That makes it a very difficult copy to get. If that is the case, then the prices that allthings discovered are rather cheap (especially at 36.95!). I don't know how many Best Buy stores are in the US, but I still feel that is not alot of copies, even for such a huge store. A search on Google shows Batman Begins (Deluxe Edition), and proceeds to describe a lenticular cover. But when I click on it I am taken to a Best Buy page that announces this item is no longer available. If you are quick and desperate, I would try this
link.
I don't know how rare these items are, but they seem pretty hot at the moment. Otherwise, there is still the Batman Begins (Two-Disc Deluxe Edition) that comes with a cool 72 page comic book. Or, if you don't need all the special features, there is a the "cheaper" (by a few bucks), Batman Begins (Widescreen Edition). There are two different covers for the enthusiast, as pictured here, but neither at this point are touted as scarce or rare in any way. The nice thing about Batman Begins is, not only is the movie popular, it is also a great movie. Speaking from the standpoint of a movie critic, I found this to be one of the best films this year.
