James Bond Re-Released this Fall
The James Bond films have been a staple in the out of print dvd world the past couple years. Many online users buy, sell and trade the various James Bond dvds for large sums. Here, for example, is a completed listing for the James Bond dvd collection Volumes 1, 2, and 3 for $430 and change. This is not unusual; the three sets bundled together typically sell in the price range of $300 - $400. But expect this to change very soon.
With the latest and upcoming Bond film Casino Royale, a re-release of all 20 films in the series is already well in the works, and is timed, not coincidentally, for re-release alongside with the theatrical release of the new Bond film on November 17. All 20 films will be available in 2-disc sets as both standard DVD's and in Blue-Ray format. Needless to say, expect all the currently oop Bond dvds and sets to take a major tumble in value. But before you shovel off your collection on eBay or Amazon, accordingly, they will not all be released at once, so you will have to wait a little longer than expected.
Here is a link that discusses some of the upcoming rereleases that have been remastered:

You can also check out the complete list here on RareOOPDVDs.com for more information concerning individual films. While this list does not exhaust every Bond release up to the current moment, it is the major films of the catalog with a few special editions thrown in there. Not to mention many other Region editions that have attracted attention from Bond fans, particularly the attache case. We shall see how the new releases effect the pricing of these editions and whether or not they will retain their value. So keep your eyes and ears peaked, we will certainly keep you posted, if not here, check the forum for the latest.
