Recent titles that are announced as discontinued.

Here is a look at some notable discontinued titles according to our neighbors at MMM. Please note that some titles may still be in stock or out of stock and no guarantee about inventory levels. Status may change at any time without notice.

NOTES:

From Geneon/Pioneer are some interesting titles like the Samurai 7 Limited Editions. I am not up on my anime knowledge, so I do not know how popular they are, but I see them regularly at the stores. Also are the Black Lagoon series; 1, 2 and 3 of the Limited Editions, which are also discontinued. Some of which are no longer available on Amazon.

Also included is the Full Metal Alchemist which many already know of its discontinuation, but here it is noted for the first time from MMM, so i thought I would include it. This set reguarly reaches 100 on eBay.

From Lions Gate is the comedy hit Drop Dead Fred which shows no re-release pending at the moment.

Also from Columbia Tri-Star is the thriller Someone to Watch Over Me with Mimi Rogers and Tom Berenger. Also no pending re-release.

From First Look Pictures is the erotic/softcore film Preaching to the Perverted. This being the R-rated edition, while there is also an unrated version available. I am not sure if it still is available like this, but I have seen a copy of the unrated version with a faux-leather cover that might interest those in collecting "dressed up" DVDs.

From Image Entertainment is their usual eclectic films such as Cuban Story, Lucrezia Borgia (which I think is an opera), and Smart Money which is perhaps a straight to video effort.

MGM's animated film Pebble and the Penguin appears to have a "Family Fun Edition" re-release.

GWAR has a series of DVD's out and they have a cult following. They are a trashy heavy metal band, this edition titled Phallus in Wonderland, but does have a pending release for early next year.

Lupin the 3rd has many titles it seems and, again, I am not up on my anime to make distinctions yet about all of these releases.

Misty Mundae's Trilogy is a set of her movies, which seem available individually. And more than likely available direct from the site.

The small cult company Subversive has this reggae documentary that is now discontinued. Land of Look Behind included both soundtract and movie. They have a small catalog, however, I dont think this being their most popular title, but perhaps still worth checking out as they have a growing reputation.

Lastly is Warners boxed set of Gangsters Collection. Although its a great set, these titles are available individually.

So thats all for now. Purchases from any of these links above or below help support our site. Thank you.
